Mexico.- Judge María Isabel Bernal Hernández granted a provisional suspension in favor of the former director of the Criminal Investigation Agency, Tomás “N”; With this appeal, the head of the Truth and Access to Justice Commission in the Ayotzinapa case, Alejandro Encinas, will not be able to refer to him as a “torturer” or as the author of the “historical truth.”

The head of the Seventh District Court in Administrative Matters in Mexico City, granted this protection so that the responsible authorities, in this case, Alejandro Encinas, refrain from issuing verbal or written expressions or the publication of official content where "it is stated , suggest or present within a special context to the complainant.”

In the agreement issued by the court this afternoon, it is indicated that the fact that Zerón is designated as a “torturer” or as the creator of the “historical truth” should be omitted:

“The provisional suspension is granted to Tomás “N”, for the sole purpose of the responsible authorities refraining from continuing to make verbal or written statements or the publication of content on official pages or social networks through which it is stated, suggested, or present within a special context to the complainant, maintaining that he is a torturer, that he carried out acts of torture or created the 'historical truth' in the Ayotzinapa Case," indicates the agreement issued by the judge.

In the request for protection, the former official of the former Attorney General's Office argued that these allegations are contrary to the principles of the presumption of innocence and due process.

Tomás “N” faces charges before the Attorney General's Office of the Republic for the crimes of torture and alternation of evidence in the case of the disappearance of the 43 normal students from Ayotzinapa, Guerrero.

The former official is a fugitive from justice in Israel, where he declared himself “politically persecuted.” This country does not have extradition treaties with Mexico.

However, the Government of Mexico, headed by President Andrés Manuel López Obrador, has requested his extradition, detailing that that country should not protect a person accused of torture, as it is a crime against humanity.
