The senator of Colombia, Feliciano Valencia, denounced this Sunday the murder of two minors in the municipality of Caldono, located in the department of Cauca.

According to parliamentarian Valencia, the murder took place in the area known as La Cucharita, "the victims were identified as Jhon Edwin Bomba Chate and Jenifer Liseth Campo Campo," he added.

Violence has intensified in the country on the eve of the parliamentary elections to be held on March 13, where polls give the opposition led by the coalition of the Historical Pact as favorites.

The Institute of Studies for Development and Peace (Indepaz) asserts that so far in 2022, 34 social leaders and seven ex-combatants have been assassinated in Colombia under the Peace Agreement.

At the same time, Indepaz also warns about the humanitarian situation in the territories of the various departments of the country, since in less than three months of the year, 20 massacres have been perpetrated.
