They denounce the assassination of another leader in Nariño, Colombia | News
The Institute of Studies for Development and Peace (Indepaz) of Colombia reported this Saturday that another leader was assassinated in the department of Nariño (southwest), number 159 so far this year.

Through its account on the social network Twitter, Indepaz specified that the victim was identified as Dositeo Ojeda Mena, who was currently serving as president of the community action board of the Guayacanal village, in the municipality of Taminango.
The institute explained that armed men entered Ojeda's home and murdered him on November 11, at approximately 10:45 p.m. (local time).

With this fact, according to figures from the entity, a total of 1,386 leaders and social leaders have been assassinated in Colombia since the signing of the Peace Accords in Havana, Cuba, in 2016.
Indepaz added that the Ombudsman's Office has issued an early warning detailing that "communal leadership represents one of the most affected sectors, especially in territories with the presence of illegal armed groups."
"Among the most recurrent effects on community leaders are threats, homicide, intimidation, persecution, gender-based violence, forced displacement," among others, emphasized Indepaz.
