They celebrate seven decades of University Theater; here the details
With the presentation of a series of plays and a tribute to the writer and playwright Luisa Josefina Hernandez (1928-2023) the 32nd edition of the University Theater Festival from October 25 to 29, in various theaters in the state of Veracruz.
In this edition, the 70 years of the Theater Organization of the Veracruzana University (Orteuv) will be celebrated, which has been a hotbed of artistic talents and a benchmark for the performing arts at the national level.
León Alfonso Colorado Hernández, general director of Cultural Diffusion of the Universidad Veracruzana, said that in this meeting there will be workshops, round tables, conversations, a keynote lecture and plays, whose headquarters will be the Emilio Carballido room, of the Teatro del Estado.
The star presentation of this festival, said Colorado Hernández, will be the work Juana Ramirez, represented by the cast of the Orteuv, under the direction of Andrea Garrote, with which they celebrate the 70 years of the group.
On the other hand, there will be a tribute to the writer and playwright Luisa Josefina Hernández, who died at the age of 93 on January 16, 2023. In this, her artistic work and her legacy will be highlighted, which stands out for having been a teacher of the writer Sergio Pitol (1933-2018).
Director of Cultural diffusion He detailed that this Festival will feature the performance of 228 participants, 107 of whom will come to the theatrical meeting from the different regions of the state.
The opening of the University Theater Festival will be on October 25 at 11:00 a.m. on the mezzanine of the State Theater and the performances will begin on October 27, starting at 2:00 p.m. And in that same space, on Friday the 27th at 12:00 p.m. the conversation will be held Women Who Break It, Female Roles in Contemporary Theater.
