In this sense, last Saturday Lula arrived in the city of Florianópolis, capital of the state of Santa Catarina in the south of the country, and upon arriving at the hotel where he would stay, he was received by a demonstration by Bolsonaristas that forced the president of the PT, Gleisi Hoffmann , to request the intervention of the feds.

Previously, the former Brazilian president had attended a massive event in the city of Curitiba, where he criticized Bolsonaro’s trip to London, the capital of the United Kingdom, to participate in the state funeral of Queen Elizabeth II, from where he will address the US city of New York to attend the 77th General Assembly of the United Nations Organization (UN), which will begin on Tuesday.

Brazilian local media highlighted that Lula referred to the contradictory attitude of Bolsonaro, who during the period of the Covid-19 pandemic did not attend the funeral of any Brazilian who died of the disease, for which Lula considers that his presence in the British capital responds to a need to show itself as an internationally recognized candidate.

Bolsonaro’s arrival in the United Kingdom was not without controversy, since from the balcony of the Brazilian embassy in London, he addressed a speech to hundreds of supporters, where he criticized Lula and the left-wing program, which generated a series of insults. against Lula by the participants.

Given the incident, it transpired that the PT will ask the Supreme Electoral Tribunal to take action against the president, alleging that he abused his political and economic power to incite insults against a PT candidate in an electoral speech.
