Guanajuato.- Capón Soup, a dish endemic to the state of Guanajuato, was presented as an image for the new edition of the entity's lottery piece. The unveiling, held before municipal, state and federal authorities, took place within the framework of the celebrations of the 65th anniversary of the National Chamber of the Restaurant and Seasoned Food Industry (CANIRAC).
“For me, the unveiling of this lottery piece begins with a new form of culinary life in Guanajuato. I invite the authorities to create a program in which gastronomy and wine come together,” commented Manuel Bribiesca Sahagún, President. of CANIRAC Guanajuato.
The National Lottery dedicated its largest draw to the state's gastronomy with the “Capón Soup”, a signature dish whose main ingredients are xoconostle, green tomato, pasilla chili, cilantro, garlic, onion, beans or cubed nopales and chicarrón de pig.
According to the family records of the Casa Mercedes Restaurant, this dish has been consumed in the region for nearly two centuries.
For his part, Germán González Bernal, national president of CANIRAC, highlighted the alliance that this organization made with the National Lottery in order to exalt the gastronomy of each of the states of the country as part of the celebrations of the 65 years of existence of CANIRAC. the camera.
“We made an alliance with the National Lottery where the 32 states of the Republic have their little piece with a dish endemic to their entity,” he noted.
Municipal, state and federal authorities participated in the event.
In his speech, the Secretary of Tourism of Guanajuato, Juan José Álvarez Brunel, highlighted that gastronomy is one of the fundamental axes for tourists to travel, just as it happens in the entity.
“This lottery piece represents Guanajuato in its traditions, in its gastronomy, in its friendliness and above all in its greatness, which is why we feel very proud to be unveiling it today,” he concluded.
Lottery tickets are now on sale nationwide and can be purchased from official National Lottery sellers and distribution points throughout the country. For this edition, 3 million 600 thousand banknotes will be produced.
The event was also attended by Alejandra Gutiérrez Campos, Mayor of the Municipality of León, Helen Anaya Sanromán, Vice President of the Central Zone of CANIRAC, and Norma Gabriela López Castañeda, Director of Incorporation and Collection of the Mexican Social Security Institute.
