They agree to a salary increase at UNAM; union and authorities achieve it

He Union of Workers of the National Autonomous University of Mexico (STUNAM) agreed with the authorities of the Maximum House of Studies a direct increase of four percent to the salary.

The UNAM announced that this increase will be in effect from November 1, 2023 as of October 31, 2024.

With the agreement reached on Friday night, the strike call proposed for the first minute of next November 1.

The meeting to sign the acceptance agreement was held at the Labor Relations Department, in Ciudad Universitaria.

The firm was headed by Luis Álvarez Icaza Longoria, Administrative Secretary of this study house; Hugo Concha Cantú, General Counsel of UNAM, and Carlos Hugo Morales Morales, general secretary of the STUNAM Executive Committee.

On behalf of the labor authorities, the agreement was witnessed by Francisco Luis Saénz García, general coordinator of Collective Conciliation of the Federal Center for Conciliation and Labor Registry.
