Commemorate Day of Resistance and Liberation in Lebanon

In the context of the 23rd anniversary of the Day of Liberation and Resistance in Lebanon, the delegates called for establishing a common strategic agenda in pursuit of multilateralism against imperial hegemony.

The general secretary of the Association for the Support of the Alternative of Resistance, Yehia Ghaddar, pointed out that the event involving intellectuals, academics, trade unionists, progressives and communicators from 70 countries is "a message of what we want to convey in the fight against the project American Zionist."

The Venezuelan communicator María Fernanda Barreto affirmed that the notion of resistance is “fully linked to the anti-imperialist struggle. To resist at this time is to position yourself against imperialism”.

In this sense, Barreto pointed out that imperialism has different expressions with the United States as the "highest authority of world capitalism", while he indicated that it is also expressed in Zionism that does not exonerate Our America from its attacks.

The Ecuadorian professor Dak Toscano stressed that "we are facing the arrogance of imperialism, of Zionism, which through each of their actions demonstrate that they will not cease their attacks on the peoples."

Diplomats accredited in Lebanon and figures from Lebanese and Palestinian political movements participated in the opening of the meeting, a space in which the importance of unity was stressed to confront the plan of the United States and its allies.
