Three Leesburg, Virginia teens were charged Friday in connection with recent shootings, threats and extortion attempts, authorities said. Additionally, Leesburg Police Department investigators suspect two of the youths are involved with the MS-13 criminal gang. Recent crimes include threats with a firearm in May, an extortion attempt in June and a couple of recent shootings. Authorities identified the suspects involved as Emerson MartĂ­nez-Alvarenga, Marco Mendoza-Monjaras and Juan Cubillas-RodrĂ­guez. Investigators charged MartĂ­nez-Alvarenga and Mendoza-Monjaras with gang involvement and attempted extortion, among other charges. Both are being held without bond at the Loudoun County Adult Detention Center. Cubillas-Rodriguez was released on a $1,000 unsecured bond.
