The signing of Héctor Herrera by the Houston Dynamo continues to give something to talk about. Since it became known that the Mexican would leave Atlético de Madrid to play in the MLS, criticism was unleashed through social networks. Many considered that “HH” still had wood to stay in Europe, but according to David Faitelson, the money won him over.

At 32 years of age, Héctor Herrera will abandon football in the Old Continent. The Aztec had a very outstanding campaign with the “Colchoneros”. Even, the Spanish team would have offered him the renewalbut the Aztec’s decision had already been made: to leave for the United States.

“Where do Uruguayan players play? What kind of level do they have? in a country of 3.5 million inhabitants there are players who go. I heard Luis Suárez say, for example: ‘I’ll stay in Europe for another six months to get to the World Cup in good shape’‘, and our big star, Héctor Herrera, says: ‘there are eight million dollars, I’m going to Houston‘, Why am I signing again at Atlético de Madrid or why am I trying to play in Europe?” David Faitelson questioned for ESPN’s Fútbol Picante.

His comparison with Suárez

Undoubtedly, the case of Luis Suárez is very similar to that of Héctor Herrera, but that leaves the Mexican more exposed. Both players were fired by Atlético de Madrid at the end of the season. “HH” goes to the United States at the age of 32 and a World Cup five months away from being played; while Luis Suárez strongly rejected Liga MX since his intention is to stay in football on the Old Continent. It is worth mentioning that the Uruguayan has 35 years old and he plays a much less adaptable position than the Aztec.
