The unemployment rate rises two tenths in France to 7.4% in the third quarter
Paris, Nov 15 (EFE).- The unemployment rate increased by 0.2 percentage points in France, to 7.4%, during the third quarter of the year, as reported this Wednesday by the National Institute of Statistics (Insee).
This increase represents 64,000 more unemployed workers than in the previous three months, which represents a total of 2.3 million.
"It rises 0.2 points in one year, returning to its level in the second quarter of 2022, but remains well below its maximum in mid-2015 (-3.1 points)," Insee said in a statement.
Despite having had two quarters of slight increases, the level of unemployment remains close to the lowest level ever reached in France, 7.1% in the second quarter of 1982.
Between July and September, unemployment increased 0.3 percentage points among women, up to 7.4%, similar to the rate for men, which increased one tenth of a point in the quarter. EFE
