The horse racing in Sanlúcar de Barrameda, that this year they will fulfill their 177 edition, will be held again in August in six days of competition, in two cycles of three days each, after in 2021 they were held on five dates in an exceptional way.

The steering committee of the Royal Horse Racing Society of Sanlúcar de Barrameda, chaired by Rafael Hidalgo, has approved the calendar in its last meeting, in which it is necessary to assess the special circumstances of this test, which have the particularity of being held at the natural racecourse of the Sanlucan beaches located at the mouth of the Guadalquivir river, in front of the Doñana National Park ,

Being a natural racetrack, the approved dates meet the tidal calendar, since it is necessary that the races be held with an appropriate low tide so that thoroughbreds can compete on the beach with a wide track.

The Sanlúcar races will be part of the equestrian pool calendar for the seventh consecutive year. Loterías y Apuestas del Estado (LAE) has included them in the external equestrian bet, together with the Madrid, San Sebastián and Dos Hermanas racetracks

The two scheduled Lototurf days will be the first two days of each racing cycle, on August 9 and 23.
