Two days after the commemoration of the victims of the earthquakes of September 19, 1985 and 2017, and getting scared by the 7.7-magnitude earthquake, we can reveal some worthwhile data.

In the case of the Rébsamen School, located in the Tlalpan CDMX City Hall, whose structure collapsed on September 19, 2017, so far more than 9 million pesos have been allocated for the payment of compensation for the damage to the victims, in compliance with recommendation 31VG/2019, issued by the CNDH.

The CEAVI CDMX has taken steps to provide medical, psychological and thanatological care. The victims request that continuity be given until their full recovery.

In turn, a judge in the case issued convictions against Mónica García Villegas and the director responsible for the work, Juan Mario Velarde Gámez for their participation in the events.

Another 5 public servants of the Tlalpan Mayor’s Office were reported to the FGR, the investigations are still open. 8 public servants of the Tlalpan Mayor’s Office were dismissed and disqualified from public service by the Secretary of the Comptroller General of Mexico City.

However, in these complaints and dismissals someone very important is missing who at that time was head of the delegation, that is, we are talking about the current head of government, Claudia Sheinbaum, who also has a lot to do with this misfortune.

It should be noted that there is also an arrest warrant against the director responsible for the work Francisco Arturo Pérez Rodríguez, by the FGJ CDMX, for whom 1 million pesos is offered for its location.

The SEP has begun a structural safety review process in the educational establishments of Mexico City, to verify that they comply with the necessary technical guidelines or, where appropriate, are rehabilitated. This in order that a similar tragedy does not occur.

However, the bereaved and affected are not happy with these results, because they lack a public apology to the families, in compliance with the CNDH recommendation; in addition to the conclusion and delivery of the Memorial that is currently being built in the Alameda Sur of CDMX.

Five years have passed and will continue to pass in the memory of the families who lost a minor in this school, a school that was approved in part of its construction by the current head of government, which until now has not been touched or by the petal of a rose in this case, nor in the case of Line 12.
