The PSG president’s butler Nasser Al-Khelaïfi assured the Mediapart website that he hid and destroyed, on orders from his superior, confidential documents in 2017 with the goal of hiding them from the police, some of them related to the awarding of the World Cup to Qatar.
According to Hicham Karmoussi, among the documents and devices hidden on two occasions is a Qatari mobile phone, from which he copied the data and handed over to the Franco-Algerian businessman Tayeb Benabderrahmane.a former collaborator of Qatar who now accuses Al-Khelaïfi himself of complicity in his arbitrary arrest in the emirate in 2020.
According to Mediapart, these devices and documents contained sensitive information from the PSG president, as well as others about the controversial award of the World Cup to Qatar, which begins this Sunday.
There would be at least a hundred conversations with FIFA and UEFA staff, many of them between Al-Khelaïfi and former UEFA general secretary Jerome Valckesentenced for passive corruption by the Swiss Justice to 11 months in prison.
There would also be secret meetings with the former US Attorney Michael Garcia, in charge of investigating the awards of the World Cups in Russia and Qatar, according to Mediapart.
Karmoussi, a trusted man of the Qatari leader for a long time, was questioned as a witness on Tuesday by agents from the anti-corruption office.
The investigative outlet contacted those around Al-Khelaïfi, who declined to respond and clarified that the club is the object of a blackmail scheme orchestrated by “a group of criminals”
