According to reports from the Civil Defense and the Fire Department, the eighth victim died in the hospital in the city of Ibiuna due to the trauma received when she was hit by a tree, like the other deceased who died due to falling walls. and trees, as well as the sinking of a small boat on the island of Ilhabela.



The authorities reported that security services have received more than 2,000 calls about incidents in 40 cities, where the private electric energy company Enel, which holds the service concession, highlighted that last Friday 2.1 million customers were left without lighting due to breaks and interruptions in electrical wiring.

Local media also highlighted that at least 200,000 properties remained without electricity in Sao Paulo, the largest city in South America with 12 million inhabitants, while 25 public schools remain without electricity throughout the state.

For his part, Ricardo Nunes, mayor of Sao Paulo, announced that one of the solutions to face this type of disasters derived from inclement weather is the installation of underground cables to guarantee electrical energy and telecommunications services.
