The impact of an Israeli missile surprises a reporter live
History says that the Gulf War, in 1991, was the first conflict televised live. Since then, it has been common to see reporters deployed to war zones broadcasting live. That physical presence so close to the combats is gold for journalistic information, and the viewer can see the evolution of the events almost for themselves; but it also carries dangers. There are many informants who have perished covering conflict situations. Today, fortunately, an Al Jazeera journalist emerged unharmed from the impact of a missile that landed near her position; But she was scared to death.
It happened in the center of Gaza, during the counteroffensive of the Israeli army after this morning's attack carried out by Hamas. The reporter was making a live connection to the set when a missile hit the top of a building that was a few hundred meters behind her. The journalist, frightened, screamed after the roar of the projectile and immediately disappeared from the screen.
His partner, from the set, told him that, if he was in a safe place, he should tell them what was happening. She, without regaining her position in front of the camera, said that she was fine and explained, still nervous, that a missile had hit a building located right in the heart of Gaza.
The host of the program who was speaking from the set responded to her, seeing that she was still in a state of shock, to take her time to breathe before continuing with the chronicle. Fortunately, and in this case, everything has turned out to be a scare.
