The fan opens in El Tri: Who will be the replacements for Raúl Jiménez and ‘Chucky’ Lozano?

The Mexico national team is installed in Kingston and Gerardo Martino has few hours to say who will replace Raúl Jiménez and Hirving Lozano on the team’s offensive front. At least six names appear on the list, without putting Jesús ‘Tecatito’ Corona, who does appear on the trident.

Raúl Jiménez was evaluated by the medical staff of the Mexican team and they concluded that he could not recover from his calf injury. He didn’t even travel to Jamaica to accompany the expedition, he stayed to work to try and get against Costa Rica on Sunday.

Hirving ‘Chucky’ Lozano carries a suspension game that he will have to purge. And to take his place, Martino has several wingers to choose from, although not with the competitive pace of the Napoli footballer.

Who replaces Jiménez?

Rogelio Funes Mori seems to be the one chosen by Gerardo Martino for this tough visit to Jamaica for the continuation of the Concacaf Octagonal. He has played 13 games in the El Tri uniform and scored five goals, and in this Liga MX Closing Tournament he has scored two goals in three games.

Henry Martin, striker for América, is another one on the list, but he started cold in the tournament. Two games without goals and with few shots, he does not seem ready to beat Funes Mori

Who replaces Lozano?

There are four names with different realities that could make things easier for Martino. There are two that bring rhythm and another two that do not come with minutes.

Uriel Antuna He arrived at Cruz Azul and has immediately had a leading role. In three games he was a starter in all of them, scoring a goal against Monterrey and leaving an assist against FC Juárez. While Alexis Vegafrom Chivas, has two goals and one assist in three games.

Diego Lainez and Orbelin Pineda are the other extremes quoted. Lainez played 45′ against Celta on January 2 and played 7′ against Alavés on the 18th of this month. While Pineda has not yet made his debut with Celta de Vigo, they take him little by little to be fully ready.

These options, starting from the basis that Mexico will play 4-3-3 with ‘Tecatito’ Corona on one side and the other two companions would be missing.
