The Türkiye Emergency and Disaster Management Agency (AFAD) reported this Friday that the number of deaths increased to 20,318 and more than 80,000 injuries, so far, while 91,511 people were evacuated.
In addition, he specified that 160,860 people, as well as 12,026 vehicles and construction machinery are in the affected areas. According to AFAD, so far they have registered some 1,700 aftershocks in the territory.

Earlier, the Vice President of Türkiye, Fuat Oktay, gave statements to the media detailing that "we are sheltering around 1,500,000 of our citizens in temporary shelters."
On the other hand, in Syria more than 3,500 deaths and more than 6,000 injuries have been reported. Of this total, the Syrian Ministry of Health indicated that the number of deaths from the earthquake in the areas under government control amounted to 1,387 and another 2,326 were injured, being a preliminary balance.
On this day, Syrian President Bashar al Assad toured the affected areas in the city of Aleppo and stressed that "we are proud of the national cadres for their work in all crises, and in the earthquake, we have seen much heroism, and doctors are part of this heroism".

On the other hand, the Syrian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates issued a statement in which it described as misleading the decision of the Government of the United States (USA) on the partial and temporary freezing of some coercive measures imposed on the country before the tragedy.
“The misleading decision issued by the US administration regarding the partial and temporary freezing of some of the deadly and unilateral coercive measures imposed on the Syrian people is nothing more than a copy of previous sham decisions that seek to give a false humanitarian impression. , since it stipulates supposed exemptions for humanitarian purposes and the facts on the ground proved its falsehood,” the entity emphasized.
The Foreign Ministry noted that "the US administration will not be able to deceive the Syrians and the world with its attempt to embellish its image and evade its responsibility to obstruct the rescue efforts and support those affected by the earthquake and satisfy the basic needs of the Syrian people.
