The cost of lies

Fernando Moctezuma Ojeda.

It is becoming more and more evident what we had already warned for several years: Andrés Manuél López Obrador, the current president of the Republic is a professional mythomaniac, and it is not something that I say; This is demonstrated by dozens of tests, sayings, facts, arguments and acts that have been in evidence since he became president, until today.

It is enough to refer to the most recent, for example, the cardiac catheterization to which he underwent last Friday, and which we found out after the spokesman for the Presidency, Jesús Ramirez Cuévas, was forced to come out and say that everything was fine. "This morning - he said at 4:15 in the afternoon - the president (...) entered the central military hospital of SEDENA to carry out a scheduled routine medical check-up."

That same night, the Secretary of the Interior, Adán Augusto López, issued a statement around 8:34 p.m., in which he stated that "due to the president's history of hypertension and heart disease, preventive and routine studies are carried out every six months." .

First suspicion: why didn't we know that these studies are carried out every six months? That is national security information.

The document goes on to state that “due to the results of his last check-up, the medical team treating him considered it necessary to perform a cardiac catheterization, which was carried out today -January 21- around 4:30 p.m. In this procedure, the president's heart and arteries were found to be healthy and functioning properly."

However, dear reader, as any reporter would, I consulted a health expert, who told me that a catheterization is never a routine procedure. These are performed "at the cardiac or cerebral level (...) with the purpose of dilating or removing a thrombus or an atherosclerotic plaque that occludes a blood vessel and causes heart attacks"

“It is not routine. It is a delicate procedure. Those with a heart attack should have it done immediately,” the expert told me. Therefore, we could almost deduce that the president suffered, once again, a heart attack that took him to the hospital. However, given the terrible way of informing, and his systematic way of lying, it is not something that those of us outside the first presidential circle know.

This is relevant given that we are talking about the most important man in the nation, and without a doubt, the most powerful president in our history. Lying about the president's health goes beyond the lies that he himself has spread for "trifles", if you like to see it that way.

Staying without a president would be very serious, but not as serious as lying and leaving the door open to suspicion, while Mexico, that is, Mexicans, do their best not to lose their balance on the tightrope. We need to know the president is healthy and well with evidence, not documents that even a high school kid could write.

Adolf Hitler said that "the great masses will succumb more easily to a big lie than to a small one." Me: #JustSayWhatISee.

CARD GAME

BACK: Almost nothing before activities return to the Senate of the Republic, the coordinator of the Morenoites in the upper house, Ricardo Monreal called for reinforcing sanitary measures in the face of the rebound in infections by covid-19 that we currently experience in Mexico. "In the Mexican Senate we are preparing the legislative agenda to be discussed in the next plenary meeting of Morena," Monreal Ávila announced through his Twitter account. //LOPEZ-GATELL: The control judge of the Federal Criminal Justice Center of the South Prison, Ganther Alejandro Villar Ceballos, ordered the Attorney General's Office to investigate Hugo López-Gatell Ramírez, Undersecretary of Prevention and Health Promotion, for his alleged responsibility in the crime of homicide by omission derived from the deaths generated from the pandemic caused by Covid-19. The bad news is that the FGR is headed by Alejandro Gertz Manero, who in turn is an unconditional supporter of the president, and we all know that López-Gatell is a darling of the president. At the time //ELECTRICAL REFORM: The president of the Chamber of Deputies, Sergio Gutiérrez Luna, assured that an Electrical Reform (RE) is required so that “the State orders the market”. First lie! Guierrez Luna forgets that, by definition, the State is made up of territory, population and Government; and what the RE intends is for the Government to be able to regulate the energy market, for companies to have "fair profits", -it would be necessary to define what is "fair" for the 'four', by the way and that “Mexican households be put first.” In a video, the brunette stated that the "marginalist market (SIC) is the one in Mexico" and "if we don't do something we can reach a similar situation" to that of Spain. That is why the electrical reform is required. Go you!
