Tenis: ATP no sancionará a Alexander Zverev tras no encontrar pruebas de violencia doméstica
La ATP retiró su investigación contra el alemán Alexander Zverev, iniciada tras las acusaciones de violencia doméstica presentadas por su exnovia, al no haber ‘pruebas suficientes’, confirmó este martes la organización en un comunicado.
La novia de Zverev en aquel momento, Olga Sharipova, había acusado al ahora tenista de 25 años de violencia y detalló las acusaciones en dos extensos informes de prensa. La primera publicación apareció en noviembre de 2020 en la revista de tenis Racquet, la segunda en agosto de 2021 en la plataforma de internet Slate.com.
Zverev siempre había negado firmemente las acusaciones. El número uno alemán había acogido con satisfacción la apertura de la investigación de la ATP, ya que era la única forma de ‘demostrar su inocencia’.
Sharipova había acusado a Zverev de ser violento con ella durante el evento ATP Masters 1000 de Shanghái en 2019. Una agencia de investigación independiente interrogó a Sharipova y a Zverev, así como a miembros de su familia y a algunos tenistas, y también había investigado otros incidentes citados por Sharipova.
Basándose en el informe de la investigación, la ATP llegó a la conclusión de que no se había infringido ninguna norma de la ATP. Sharipova aún no ha presentado denuncia ante la policía.
