According to the Syrian Foreign Ministry, the president spoke with the special envoy of his Russian counterpart, Vladimir Putin, about the areas of cooperation and the scope achieved in the fight against terrorism, as well as stability in much of the territory.

The Syrian head of state assessed the attitude of some countries against Russia as immoral, stating that this response is due to the role played by the Eurasian nation in the international arena.

Likewise, President Al Assad thanked Russia’s efforts to promote bilateral relations and the support provided to the population in the war against terrorism.

For his part, Lavrentiev affirmed that Russia will continue to support Syria to overcome the obstacles generated by the war and recognized the role that the Arab nation has once again played in the region.

Finally, he assured that Syria’s advance arises as a result of “its victories and the determination of its people to defend and rebuild their country.”
