Sum Wellbeing 1.4 million therapies for disabled people with support from Telethon

The Secretary of Welfare, Ariadna Montiel reported that through the agreement established with the Teletón Foundation, more than 1.4 million therapies have been accumulated for children with disabilities.

In the morning press conference, he highlighted the importance of the agreement with Teletón, which has helped children with disabilities who receive financial support from the federal government to also be cared for in rehabilitation centers.

"Regarding the rehabilitation program that consists of providing free therapies to girls and boys with disabilities through the Teletón Foundation, we are already benefiting 26,696 girls and boys with disabilities and by the end of the year we will be reaching 30,000 with the two centers that are going to open. One million 477 thousand rehabilitation and inclusion therapies have been granted for these families," the official explained.

Montiel recalled that there are already 14 states that have signed the agreement with the federal government to provide financial support to people with disabilities in a 50 percent scheme for each one.

In 2023, agreements were signed with eight other states that are in the implementation phase of the 50 percent contribution scheme for the state and 50 percent for the federation.

"One million 302 thousand 560 people with disabilities already receive their pension throughout the country, this year we are investing 26 thousand 577 million pesos for this pension," Montiel stressed.
