Subsecretariat for Human Rights, Population and Migration presents strategy for linking with federal entities


Mexico.- As part of the strategy of accompanying the federal entities in the area of ​​human rights, a meeting was held between the Undersecretary of Human Rights, Population and Migration of the Ministry of the Interior and the unit in charge of tasks in this matter in the State of Sinaloa, in order to advance in a transversal policy through the elaboration of its state program.

On behalf of the undersecretary, the general director of Public Policy on Human Rights, José Luis Calderón Ríos, stressed that the purpose of the liaison meetings is to promote the design and implementation of state programs in the field of human rights, as a tool to help to the articulation and directionality of public interventions, and in the case of this entity, to pay for the recent installation of the Sinaloa State Human Rights Network.

The head of the Undersecretariat for Human Rights of the General Secretariat of Government in this state, Nora Patricia Figueroa Sauceda, reported that the Sinaloa State Human Rights Network is a unique instrument at the national level.

This, he specified, seeks to strengthen institutional capacities to achieve the effective mainstreaming of the human rights approach in the State Public Administration, favoring the complementarity of all the Executive’s actions aimed at safeguarding the fundamental rights and freedoms of Sinaloans.

Likewise, a meeting was held with the technical teams of the Directorates for the Resolution of Recommendations of National Organisms, Attention to Vulnerable Groups, and State Human Rights Policy, who were presented with the Guide for the Preparation of State Programs of Human rights.

Finally, it was agreed to promote training actions on constitutional obligations in the area of ​​human rights, as well as to establish a work schedule for the preparation of the draft state program on the matter, with emphasis on the design of indicators, a process that will be accompanied by the Ministry of the Interior, through the Undersecretary of Human Rights, Population and Migration.
