Storm Otis forms south of Oaxaca, Mexico | News
Meteorological authorities reported that Tropical Storm Otis formed from Tropical Depression Eighteen-E, south of the coast of Oaxaca located 600 kilometers south of Puerto Ángel, Oaxaca and 800 kilometers south-southeast of Acapulco, Guerrero .

The National Water Commission (Conagua) warned that Otis brings maximum winds of 65 kilometers per hour and gusts of up to 85, and waves of 1 to 3 meters high on the coast of Nayarit; in addition to gusts of winds of 40 to 60 km/h in Sonora.
The new storm was generated due to cloud breaks that favored the entry of humidity to the south and southeast of the national territory, according to the official Conagua site.
The states of Guerrero, Oaxaca and Chiapas have experienced very specific heavy rains in their regions due to this phenomenon.
Given the arrival of the storm, Conagua called on the general population in the areas of the mentioned states to take extreme precautions, as there may be heavy rain, wind and waves that could affect the maritime sector.
The rainfall that Otis will cause in Mexico could increase the levels of rivers and streams and generate landslides and floods. For the next few hours of the day, gusts of winds of 80 to 100 km per hour are expected and a possible formation of waterspouts and waves of 4 to 6 meters high are forecast on the coasts of Baja California Sur and Sinaloa.
