The XXVI International Economic Forum (SPIEF), where delegations from more than 100 countries from all over the world participate, began this Wednesday in the Russian city of Saint Petersburg and will run until Saturday, June 17.


Russia and Cuba consolidate bilateral relations

As anticipated by the Kremlin spokesman, Dmitri Peskov, the central activity of the event will be the plenary session, which will include the participation of the President of the Russian Federation, Vladimir Putin.

The governor of St. Petersburg, Alexander Beglov, indicated that "geopolitical changes have certainly taken their toll. But the representativeness of SPIEF remains very high."

According to the entity, there has been an increase in interest in the event from traditional partners of the Eurasian nation such as Vietnam, India and China, as well as from countries of the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS).

A significant number of participants from Southeast Asian nations such as Indonesia, Malaysia and Thailand are also expected. Meanwhile, delegations from more than 20 African countries will attend.

On the other hand, Russia's business dialogues are planned with the countries of Latin America and the Arab world, as well as China, the United Arab Emirates (UAE), India, the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU) and the Association of Nations of Southeast Asia (Asean).
