Starbucks paid Oklahoma customer who reported being charged more than $4,000 in tips

In early January, Jesse and Deedee O'Dell went to a Starbucks in Tulsa where they bought two cups of coffee for which they only had to pay $11.83, but because they charged a credit card, they didn't realize they had been charged $4,444.44 in tips.
Days later, Checking her bank statement, as her card was declined while Deedee was out shopping with her four children, the O'Dells discovered what they thought was a serious mistake at the terminal through which they slid their plastic.
In this regard, Jesse indicated that he selected the option without tip during the self-service payment.
“I know how to push buttons. I didn't press that button. If it wasn't the barista, it's definitely their network, which is a big deal.“Jesse said in an interview with McClatchy News.
After contacting the Starbucks customer service line more than 30 times, customers Franchise officials told the O'Dells that checks would be sent to cover the costs of their error. However, the fault took many days to clear and that caused setbacks for the affected family.
Derived from the charge that was charged to your credit card, The O'Dells were forced to cancel their scheduled vacation, so they filed a report with the Tulsa Police Department about the situation.
“My wife is originally from Thailand and grew up in the United States. We had planned to take a trip to the country as a family on January 27, but we had to cancel and these tickets are non-refundable," Jesse said.
A Starbucks representative acknowledged that it was a typo on the checks that caused the funds not to be sent, but this Monday the affections finally received the amount that they had been charged by mistake.
“This is something that has put pressure on our family and I hope others don't have to go through something like this,” said Jesse O'Dell, who declined to provide details on the amount he received as compensation.
