SSPC highlights construction and maintenance of Issste hospitals

One year after the instruction of President Andrés Manuel López Obrador to rescue the Institute of Security and Social Services of State Workers (Issste), there is clear progress in the fight against corruption and improvement of the service with new hospitals, maintenance, purchase of equipment, hiring of personnel and supply of medicines.

The Secretary of Security and Citizen Protection (SSPC), Rosa Icela Rodríguez, stated the above when presenting the second report of the Transformation Project of the new Issste, during the morning conference, at the National Palace.

“A commission of public servants is working to change the situation of pre-existing institutional abandonment, dismantling and corruption in which the Issste found itself,” said the official.

To correct this situation, the intense and coordinated work of the Secretariats of Health, Finance, Public Function, Security, the Attorney General's Office, IMSS, the Biological and Reagent Laboratories of Mexico (Birmex), and the Issste itself, among other institutions, has been required. .

Regarding the construction of six hospitals and clinics, the following progress is available:

  • Torreón, Coahuila 44.8%
  • Tlajomulco, Jalisco 28.5%
  • Tampico, Tamaulipas 29.3%
  • Cabo San Lucas, Baja California Sur 31%
  • Palenque, Chiapas 24%

It should be noted that it was also reported that construction work began in Acapulco, Guerrero. Due to the above, the head of the SSPC pointed out that the Issste is emerging as a great health institution, hand in hand with its workers and union.

Likewise, it was detailed that 441 medical units are maintained to provide better care spaces to beneficiaries, and they are equipped with high-tech and specialty goods.

This year, it was stated that 1,397 pieces of equipment were acquired, which will begin to be delivered in the first half of October, and it was highlighted that thanks to the medication supply program, a satisfaction level of 86% has been achieved among beneficiaries, due to that their prescriptions are filled completely and in a timely manner.
