The Municipal Table of Effective Participation for the victims of Santa Rosa del Sur in Bolívar denounced on Tuesday the acts of violence that have been taking place in the territory and that have ended the life of the social leader, Rosa Elena Celix Guañarita.

The events occurred specifically in the municipalities of San Pablo and Simití and are part of the threat to the integrity and security of social leaders who defend the rights of victims of the armed conflict, according to the complaint.

Last Friday, the legal representative of the ASVICSUR victims' association, Gloria Isabel Forero Ariza, was intercepted by armed men who attempted an attempt on her life.

However, on Sunday, in the municipality of San Pablo, south of Bolívar, individuals whose identity is still unknown murdered Rosa Elena Celix Guañarita, who was the vice president of the association of victims of the Los Guayacanes village, rural area of Santa Rosa del Sur.

The human rights organizations of Barrancabermeja and Magdalena Medio also denounced the murder of Rosa Elena Celix and asked the authorities to expedite the investigation.



The authorities also reported that hours after Rosa Elena Celix's crime, another murder occurred in the municipality of San Pablo.

The day before there were more than 1,400 social leaders assassinated since the signing of the Havana peace agreement in 2016, 18 of them during the current year.
