Shooting in Ecuador leaves at least four dead | News
On Thursday, a shooting was reported in the coastal city of Guayaquil that left at least four people dead, including an 11-year-old boy.

The shots were recorded in the Guayas y Quil cooperative, south of Guayaquil, in an area known as “Lost City.”
Colonel Marcelo Castillo, head of the southern district of the Ecuadorian Police, explained that ten people were injured, including three minors.
The victims were taken to the Guasmo Sur General Hospital, a health center near the scene of the events. Hospital authorities indicated that they activated the silver code to receive those injured in the armed attack.

Elements of the southern district of the Ecuadorian Police managed to arrest one of the suspects; Everything seems to indicate that the attack was carried out by several motorized vehicles who arrived at the scene with firearms that they fired indiscriminately at the scene, regardless of the fact that there were children playing.
Witnesses said that the gunmen fled, firing shots into the air. Unofficially, local media indicated that the deceased are members of the same family, which may indicate that it was a targeted attack.
At the moment, an investigation is being carried out. Police authorities have not provided further details about this tragic event.
