Se realizan elecciones primarias en Argentina

Los colegios electorales de Argentina abrieron a las 08:00 horas local para las elecciones primarias con vistas a los comicios presidenciales del próximo 22 de octubre.

Unos 35.4 millones de argentinos están convocados para definir con su voto las listas de candidatos que quedarán habilitados para competir en octubre, cuando se elegirán presidente y vicepresidente, se renovarán 130 de los 257 escaños de la Cámara de Diputados y 24 de las 72 bancas del Senado, y se elegirán 43 representantes argentinos para el Parlamento del Mercosur (Parlasur, cuerpo legislativo del bloque integrado por Argentina, Brasil, Paraguay y Uruguay).

Más de 85 mil efectivos militares y de las fuerzas de seguridad brindan custodia a las 108 mil 107 mesas de votación distribuidas en 17 mil 432 escuelas y otros recintos de todo el país, que estarán abiertos hasta las 18:00 h para el acto electoral.

Estas elecciones primarias, obligatorias tanto para los partidos políticos como para los electores de 18 a 70 años, son las séptimas que celebra Argentina desde la adopción de este sistema con los comicios de 2011.
