Russian Foreign Minister Says Guterres Delays Solution to World Food Crisis

The Russian Foreign Minister, Sergei Lavrov, assured this Thursday that he considers that the UN Secretary General, António Guterres, is delaying a solution to the global food crisis.

“The Secretary General of the UN is delaying a solution to the food crisis through his actions, he does not allow the shipment of grain as soon as possible. This is unfortunate,” Lavrov stressed in an interview with the Belarusian national broadcaster, as reported by the Russian news agency. TASS.

Thus, he stressed that Russia is alarmed by the slow response of the United Nations to the proposals on the transport of grain.

We are alarmed by the slow reaction on a matter that seems urgent. I do not rule out that the UN Secretariat is also suffering intense pressure from those who want to subject this international organization to external control,” added the head of the Russian Foreign Ministry.
