The European Council took steps to prevent sanctions already imposed from being circumvented. In this sense, he indicated that the EU can restrict the sale, supply or transfer of technologies and materials to third countries that can be used to evade sanctions.
Likewise, the list of sanctioned companies was increased to 87, which were accused of supporting Russia militarily and industrially in the context of the conflict in Ukraine.
In turn, the set of items that cannot be exported to Russia was increased. Among them, semiconductors, equipment for the production and testing of electronic circuits, precursors of energy materials and chemical weapons, navigation instruments and optical components.
Similarly, new transport restrictions related to the movement of Russian ships or ships arriving at Russian ports were imposed. In addition, limitations were placed on the licensing of broadcasting of Russian channels in the EU.
For its part, Moscow expanded the list of representatives of EU institutions that cannot enter Russian territory, which - it assured - are linked to defense agencies, government and commercial organizations that support the Kiev government.
