Kremlin spokesman Dimitri Peskov said at a press conference on Tuesday that the Russian government is following the actions of the United States (USA) with concern in the face of the increase in tension promoted by the North American side.

Peskov also referred to the deployment of US troops in Europe and the influence of these acts on the negotiations between Russia and the US; and in this sense he pointed out that everything depends on Washington's response to the security guarantees demanded by Moscow.
The official stated that it is early to draw conclusions about the US position regarding Russian security proposals in Europe and also explained that they will first receive the response from Washington, process it and later a position will be formed based on the guidelines of President Vladimir Putin. .
The US and Russia negotiate a reciprocal security agreement in talks that had a first meeting in Switzerland on January 10.
Later, on January 21, the leaders of both foreign ministries also met, Antony Blinken on the US side, and Serguei Lavrov on the Russian side.
Among Russia's requests stands out the renunciation of the enlargement of the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO), as well as eliminating the deployment of offensive weapons near its borders, and the withdrawal of troops from Bulgaria and Romania.
