Russia denounces that the US uses attack on Ukraine as provocation | News

The spokeswoman for the Russian Foreign Ministry, Maria Zajárova, denounced this Thursday that the accusations made by the United States Government that Russia plans an imminent invasion of Ukraine are nothing more than the backdrop for its own military provocations.

Russia calls not to speculate on alleged aggression against Ukraine

“Western and Ukrainian media and high-ranking officials have been amplifying speculation these days about an allegedly imminent Russian attack on Ukraine (…) The goal of that campaign is to create an informational smokescreen to prepare their own provocations, including military, which could have dire consequences for regional and global security,” the diplomat said.

Zajárova also assured that in these days the United Kingdom sent weapons to Ukraine. “Unfortunately, our fears have been confirmed by recent media reports citing official structures and sources,” he lamented.

The spokeswoman for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Eurasian country stressed that at least six flights with some 460 tons of weapons have been organized from the United Kingdom.

Likewise, he explained that portable anti-tank systems will be placed in the neighboring territory for use in urban environments. “This is exactly the type of combat in which the Ukrainian military […] they are being trained by Western instructors,” he said.

The official mentioned that Canada also sent more than 200 Special Forces agents “under the pretext of protecting its Embassy and evacuating diplomats in an emergency.”

In this regard, Zakharova urged the West not to contribute to the militarization of Ukraine. “We call on Western countries to stop the aggressive anti-Russian campaign and stop contributing to the militarization of Ukraine by involving it in NATO (North Atlantic Treaty Organization).”

However, US aid to Ukraine is “the most massive”, as the Russian representative ironically pointed out, while stating that some 30 Javelin anti-tank missile systems and 180 missiles have been sent from Washington to Kiev in recent years. months.

He also indicated that the White House has injected more than 2.5 billion dollars into Ukraine between 2014 and 2021.

The diplomat’s words come after US media publications that insist on warning of the imminence of a Russian attack against Ukraine. Moscow, on the other hand, has reiterated that the theories of aggression from the West are “absurd and dangerous”, thus ruling out the alleged military incursion.
