On Friday, a riot occurred inside a prison in Las Palmas, in the Cárdenas municipality, in the state of Tabasco, which left five inmates dead.

The incident occurred at the Social Reintegration Center (CERESO) in a riot that began on Thursday night and ended in the middle of the morning this Friday.

Five inmates were killed, according to figures released by the Secretariat of Security and Citizen Protection of Tabasco.



The official report indicates that the event occurred at 6:30 pm (local time) on Thursday after a fight between inmates from modules one and two of the CERESO.

Hernán Bermúdez Requena, head of the Secretariat of Security and Citizen Protection of Tabasco, indicated that the fight was started by two violent groups that live inside the prison.

He assured that order was established in the penitentiary center after the actions of the uniformed officers.
