The Eugene Police Department, in Oregon, United States, reported this Saturday that six people were transported to the local hospital after a mass shooting occurred the day before during the concert of rappers Lil Bean and Zay Bang, at the WOW Hall concert hall. .

According to the entity, the event occurred at 9:30 p.m. local US time on the west campus of the University of Oregon. The scene of the events was attended by members of the police department as well as the community fire station.

“One of the six injured was in critical condition. Although no arrests have been made, we do have a suspect, a man wearing a hooded sweater, who was seen running west just after the shooting,” Eugene Police Chief Chris Skinner said.



Likewise, the police authority confirmed that among the victims are four men and one woman, whose medical condition is unknown. Skinner did not specify the gender of the sixth victim.

In addition, he called people to speed up their testimonies and, with it, the investigation of the event, the 17th mass shooting that occurs in the US so far in 2022.



In this sense, the Archive of Armed Violence in the United States recorded that during the past 2021, 691 mass shootings were reported. The balance of fatalities due to firearms amounted to 20,658 people, while 40,358 were injured.
