The entity also indicated that this week the number of deaths from the virus exceeded 6 million on the planet, with 45,000 reported in the last seven days alone according to WHO data.
Regarding cases by region, Europe leads the list with more than 185 million, followed by the Americas with more than 148 million.
On the other hand, the list of deaths from the coronavirus is headed by the Americas region with more than 2.6 million, followed by Europe with about 1.9 million deaths.
In the Americas, the list of confirmed cases is headed by the United States (USA) with more than 78 million, while Brazil is in second place with more than 29 million.
In addition, these two countries are the ones with the most deaths registered in the region due to Covid-19, with more than 954,000 and more than 652,000, respectively.
The data kept by the WHO shows how the digit of daily cases and deaths has decreased due to, among other factors, that more than 10.7 billion people in the world are vaccinated.
However, the WHO continues to call for alertness to outbreaks or variants that may appear.
