A report from the United States Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) revealed that Covid-19 was the fourth leading cause of death last year in that country.

The text noted that the pandemic is below heart disease, cancer and unintentional injuries.

Data analyzing the causes of death in the United States revealed that in 2022, more than three million deaths occurred.



Of this total, one in 13 deceased people died as a consequence of the disease caused by the SarsCov-2 virus (close to 244,986 people).

Compared to 2021, the general mortality rate for 2022 in the northern nation decreased by about 5.3 percent.

Specifically, the death rate from Covid-19 was higher in African Americans and Alaska Natives.
