Costa Rica and New Zealand will meet this Tuesday for the last ticket to Qatar World Cup 2022, the duel of playoff will be held in Ahmad bin Ali Stadium in Al Rayyan, Doha.
Costa Rica, finished in fourth place in the octagonal CONCACAF behind of Canada, Mexico and the United States; while, New Zealand was leader of Pool B in Oceanic Playoff (OFC) overcoming, without losing any duel, to Papua New Guinea, Fiji and New Caledonia. Later, he eliminated Tahiti Y Solomon Islands, without conceding any goal, in the last qualifying round.
The Central American team led by the Colombian Luis Fernando Suarez seeks to participate in sixth World Cup, the third in a row since Brazil 2014where he reached the quarterfinals, and Russia 2018eliminated in group stage.
While, New Zealand seeks to join Australia as representatives of Oceania at the World Cup. Before the duel against the Ticos, the squad ‘All White’s won 5-0 at Solomon Islands in the final of the qualifying round of the OFC.
The team led by the New Zealander Danny Hay seeks to return to world Cup 12 years later. New Zealand, only has played two World Cups, Spain 1982 and South Africa 2010. In his two World Cup appearances never got a win or passed the group stage.
