The Russian president has been indifferent to the plane crash where Yevgeni Prigozhin died at the summit and has not made a statement about it.

The president of Russia, Vladimir Putin, has continued this Thursday with his official agenda oblivious to the plane crash that has cost the life of his former ally Yevgeni Prigozhin, head of the Wagner Group.

Putin has appeared by videoconference before the BRICS leaders' summit and has stuck to the script.

The Russian president has been the only BRICS leader who has not attended the meeting in South Africa, after the International Criminal Court (ICC) pointed him out for alleged war crimes committed in Ukraine.

The Russian government has not officially ruled on Prigozhin's death. Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov, present at the BRICS summit, has also avoided making statements on the matter, dodging possible questions about the circumstances of the accident.
