Puerto Rico dominates athletics in Central American Games | News
Puerto Rican athletics occupies first place at the XXIV Central American and Caribbean Games in San Salvador with five gold medals, one silver and two bronze, above regional powers such as Cuba and Mexico.

In second place, Cuba has won four gold medals, seven silver and two bronze, followed by Venezuela, which is third with four gold. Mexico, for its part, is in fourth position with three gold, six silver and four bronze medals.
Although there are two days left to conclude the competitions, the performance of the Puerto Rican delegation is recognized. The head coach, Carlos Guzmán, expressed it this way: “I am surprised because there are Cuba, Mexico and Venezuela with more athletes here. We are the fifth country with the most athletes”.

In the Puerto Rican delegation two World Cup athletes stand out, the decalista Ayden Owens Delerme and the hurdler Jasmine Camacho-Quinn, who won her test with a time of 12.61 seconds, just one hundredth of her own record for the Games, achieved on Tuesday in the semifinals.
