Production of the Acura NSX Type S begins

The Performance Manufacturing Center (PMC) plant has started production of the limited edition Acura NSX Type S.

The model made its world debut during the 2021 Monterey Car Week, immediately establishing itself as Acura’s halo of performance and taking the brand’s commitment to elevating its precision-crafted performance to a new level.

With total production running at 350 units, each NSX Type S was quickly reserved when pre-orders opened.

PMC will end production of the limited-edition supercar this year. “Today is an exciting day for PMC and Acura as we begin shipping the long-awaited NSX Type S supercar,” said Gail May, PMC division leader.

“Every associate here is committed to ensuring that every Type S we build, from #1 to #350, is as perfect as the first second-generation NSX this team built in 2016.”

The first two NSX Type S models built at the PMC were painted in the facility’s exclusive Gotham Gray matte paint finish.

In addition, special training is provided to Acura dealers to convey proper care instructions to owners.
