The Prime Minister of Barbados, Mia Mottley, arrived in Caracas this Saturday as part of an official visit to Venezuela, to strengthen relations of cooperation and brotherhood.

Upon her arrival at the Simón Bolívar International Airport, in La Guaira, Mottley was received by the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Yván Gil, with the honors corresponding to his high investiture.
Barbados and Venezuela have maintained diplomatic relations dating back 54 years, which have been strengthened since the arrival of the revolution thanks to Commander Hugo Chávez.
Likewise, these ties have been expanding during the government of President Nicolás Maduro with the Bolivarian Peace Diplomacy.
In its Twitter account, the Venezuelan Foreign Ministry also reported the arrival of the Barbadian official, adding that her visit is for the sake of "sustaining an agenda of productive work in the country" and to "continue promoting the ties of brotherhood and cooperation".
Last May, the Executive Vice President of Venezuela, Delcy Rodríguez, visited the island country, accompanied by Foreign Minister Gil, with the purpose of "strengthening cooperation relations in areas of interest."
