El presidente de Brasil, Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva, lanzó este viernes el Programa de Aceleración del Crecimiento (PAC), un plan de infraestructura que tiene la finalidad de estimular el crecimiento de la economía, de forma sostenible, en los próximos cuatro años.

Por iniciativa del Gobierno, el PAC invertirá 350.000 millones de dólares (1,7 billones de reales) y alcanzará a todos los estados de Brasil con la finalidad de crear, acelerar y reanudar obras.

"Hoy empieza mi Gobierno. Hasta ahora lo que hicimos fue reparar lo desandado. Recuperamos 42 políticas de inclusión social. El PAC es el inicio de nuestro tercer mandato. A partir de él, los ministros van a tener que parar de tener ideas y empezar a trabajar", aseguró el mandatario.



En este sentido, las obras están previstas en los rubros de educación, salud y saneamiento básico, y se dividirán en nueve áreas. Las de mayor cuantía se destinarán al desarrollo de ciudades sostenibles, transporte eficiente, transición y seguridad energética.

El líder explicó que en el programa se espera la inversión extranjera de países como China, Estados Unidos y la Unión Europea (UE), y será un generador de al menos cuatro millones de empleos en todo el país.

Por su parte, el ministro de la Casa Civil, Rui Costa, manifestó que con ello, se busca “reducir las desigualdades sociales, las desigualdades regionales, reducir el costo de producción del país y ayudar a formar a la nueva generación del país”.
