President evaluates construction of infrastructure and artisan roads in the Isthmus

President Andrés Manuel López Obrador supervised works and evaluated the progress of the construction of artisan roads, bridges and highways in the Isthmus of Tehuantepec.

In a publication on his social networks, the president gave an account of these activities that he carried out privately accompanied by public servants of the federal government, the governor of Guerrero, Evelyn Salgado Pineda and the governors of Oaxaca, Salomón Jara Cruz and Veracruz, Cuitláhuac. According to data from the Ministry of Infrastructure, Communications and Transportation and the National Institute of Indigenous Peoples, the Road Paving Program for Municipal Headquarters is applied in ten states of the Republic: Chihuahua, Durango, Guerrero, Hidalgo, Nayarit , Oaxaca, Puebla, Sonora, Tlaxcala and Veracruz.

The total programmed investment of this initiative amounts to 18 thousand 972 million pesos to build 416 roads totaling 4 thousand 175 kilometers.

To date, 190 roads have been built, representing more than 2,526 kilometers and an investment of 11,745 million pesos.

The Road Paving Program for Municipal Headquarters has benefited two million inhabitants and generated 72,000 jobs.

This year it is scheduled to conclude 114 roads equivalent to 1,020 kilometers with an investment of 4,108 million pesos.

In 2024, the goal is to build 112 roads that represent 647 more kilometers with an investment of 3,119 million pesos.
