President Arce repatriates Bolivian victims of an accident in Chile | News

The president of Bolivia, Luis Arce, announced this Saturday that he will rescue the compatriots who died in a traffic accident in the Chilean commune of Peumo that occurred on December 29.

“After learning about the traffic accident in the Peumo commune, where eight compatriots lost their lives, we expedited procedures and began the repatriation of their bodies,” confirmed the president.

At the same time, he expressed solidarity with the families of the fatal victims where he ratified his commitment to expedite everything corresponding, “we adhere to the pain of the relatives and express our most sincere condolences,” he said.



The mayor of the commune of Peumo, Carlos Aliaga, confirmed that an accident between a small bus and a truck left at least nine people dead, as well as three injured who were taken to a care center.

“It is a minibus that traveled along this route, the H-66, better known as the Ruta de la Fruta, approximately at kilometer 25 heading west, which for reasons under investigation collided with a truck that was in the opposite direction to the east”, explained at the time the deputy prefect commander of Carabinero del Cachapoal, Manzur Abutom.
