How can you participate in the Powerball draw?
You will have to do a combination of five numbers from 1 to 69 for the white balls. After, a number from 1 to 26 for the red Powerball.
If all six numbers are on your ticket, you'll win the jackpot.
How to get your cash prize?
Prizes must be claimed in the state where the winning ticket was purchased. Players can usually claim a prize of up to $600 dollars at any authorized lottery sales establishment in the geographic location where they purchased the ticket.
Prizes whose value is greater than $600 can be claimed at the main lottery headquarters in each case. There are also authorized establishments, whose address must be consulted a priori as appropriate.
You will have 90 days to collect your prize up to one year, according to the instructions of the jurisdiction where the ticket was sold. To find out when that time ends, check the back of the ticket. If the expiration date is not listed, you should go to your state lottery.
If you win the Powerball jackpot, you can collect the prize in two possible ways: as an annuity -in 30 payments over 29 years-, or a single global payment in cash. For the annuity, each payment increases by 5% each year.
The cash option is the amount of money that is required to be in the jackpot fund on the day of the drawing to fund the jackpot.
