Portugal registers 65,578 infections by Covid-19, its highest figure | News
The Portuguese Ministry of Health reported this Wednesday that 65,578 new positives for the Covid-19 disease were reported in the country, the highest number since the first contagion was reported in March 2020.

Statistics have indicated that in January 2022 alone there have been a greater number of infections (988,172) than in the entire previous year when 975,968 were registered, even though deaths did not increase.
The health entity specified that 2,377,818 cases of coronavirus have been recorded in the country, while the deceased reach 19,703 patients. On the last day, 42 deaths were reported.
The General Directorate of Health (DGS), reported that 1,842,153 people correspond to the total number of recovered, although there are still 2,313 people admitted, three times less than in January 2021.
The North region has registered almost half of the cases this Wednesday, with 43 percent, which means 28,314 infections.
The health portfolio indicated that 8,782,283 people have completed primary vaccination, 2,661 more than the previous day, while 4,557,503 have received a booster dose.
