Political parties opposed to AMLO register an alliance with the INE and select 13 candidates for the presidency of Mexico

The political parties opposed to the government of Andrés Manuel López Obrador, made up of the National Action Party (PAN), the Institutional Revolutionary Party (PRI) and the Democratic Revolution Party (PRD), carried out the registration of the so-called “Broad Front for Mexico, FAM”before the National Electoral Institute (INE) for the next presidential elections in Mexico to be held in June 2024.

“With this formalization we show that there is no simulation here, we are doing it in accordance with the Constitution, article 41, and the Law of Parties; Mexico requires a new understanding between parties and society“, said Marko Cortés, president of the National Action Party on the afternoon of Sunday, July 9.

For the next presidential elections in Mexico, the now registered opposition "Broad Front for Mexico" carried out from July 4 to 9 the registration of the so-called "responsible for the construction of the FAM", in which 33 candidates registered, of which 11 are politicians and 22 more are without a partisan background.

However, this Monday, July 10, the "Broad Front for Mexico" announced that within this list of 33 people only 13 qualified to advance to the second of three phaseswhich are:

Now, From July 12 to August 15, the 13 assigned applicants will have the mission of collecting at least 150,000 signatures of support from 17 entities of the country to be able to advance to the next phase.

In the third and final phase, only 3 of the applicants will be chosen, under the criteria that they have obtained the 15,000 signatures requested, in addition to having approved several opinion studies.

Those qualified in this third phase will attend five forums:
1. Tijuana, Baja California, August 17
2. Monterrey, Nuevo León, August 19
3. Leon, Guanajuato, August 22
4. Guadalajara, Jalisco, August 24
5. Merida, Yucatan, August 26

After finishing the 5 forums, A last survey will be lifted from August 27 to 30which will have the value of 50%, while on September 3 a citizen consultation will be held, which will also have a value of 50%.

it will be the same Sunday September 3, 2023 that the Committee of the Broad Front for Mexico will announce the name of the winner of the phases and who will represent them in the opposition candidacy for the presidency of Mexico in 2024.
