Police Community of America holds summit in Argentina | News
The Police Community of America (Ameripol) celebrates this Monday an extraordinary summit in the Argentine capital of Buenos Aires in which it seeks to deepen the cooperation agreements between the different bodies of the continent.

At the opening of the event, the Commander General of the Argentine Gendarmerie, Andrés Severino, president of Ameripol, assured that "the institutionalization of the Police Community of America is an indisputable factor in the international police cooperation project."
Likewise, the president of the host country, Alberto Fernández, called for "the worst criminals to fall to the full weight of the law" and stated that "the rule of law is a way of living together that means respecting coexistence in democratic life and rights of each and every one".

The Latin American country assumed the annual presidency of the organization in 2018, which was extended due to the outbreak of covid-19. Candidates will be nominated at this summit and the nation that will preside over the new period will be chosen.
Likewise, the agreements between the bodies will be deepened and the regulations of the specialized centers will be detailed and to stimulate the exchange of information.
Ameripol, founded in 2007 in Colombia, is a mechanism for technical-scientific assistance, information exchange, criminal investigation, and judicial assistance to strengthen police training and the prevention and neutralization of organized crime.
